A New Life

That is how it feels. We didn’t just bring a new life into this world and into our home, our own lives are also new. I know that is something I have said a lot before. It seems like our life consistently changes so much, that it truly is a brand new normal. I wouldn’t change it for the world though. Jeff and I have said, Luke has been the best thing to happen to us in a very, very long time. Maybe even since the day we got married.

Life with a baby is simply amazing. Sure, there are days that are harder than othersπŸ˜‚. However, anytime I look at Luke and he gives me one of those adorable smiles, all is right in the world again. Luke has truly and quickly become the light of our lives. A lot of our lives now revolves around him and some of his scheduling.

Our house has taken on a different look as well. The first couple of months, you maybe couldn’t tell we had a baby on our main floor since we spend a lot of time in the bonus room. However, Luke has now taken over every part of our house in one way or another. We are now 4 month into this parenting thing. I am loving ALMOST every minute of itπŸ˜‚. The nights have been a little difficult. Thank you 4 month sleep regression πŸ™„. We are making it through it though, one way or another, or better say one hour at a time.

Likes

He is an absolute joy to have around. Some of the things Luke loves include, Mommy and Daddy. Anytime either of us looks at him, he smiles. At least most of the time, unless he is completely losing his mind for some reason. Other things would be eating his hands, or really anything he can bring to his mouth. He loves, loves, loves his stuffies, which he actually has a ton of. One of his most favourites is a little puppy. He hugs him so tightly and just wants to eat him. Its simply the cutest thing around. Luke is very ticklish. He definitely got that from Jeff. Its so adorable when he starts to giggle. He does it mostly with bath times and when he gets kisses on his neck.

Dislikes

Some of the things he doesn’t like include not getting attention. He likes to play on the floor in his jungle gyms or just with his toys, as long as one of us sits next to him. This, plus the sleeping issues, is currently what we are working on. Another thing he hates is COVID. Maybe I should be more specific, its the restrictions that come with it. We miss hanging out with family and friends. We are now going to miss a trip out east that we had planned since before Luke was born.

I could talk and share pictures of Luke for hours and hours. However I think that would bore people at some point :D. All of this to say, we LOVE our little boy and this new life that he has brought to us. Its a crazy, busy, sometimes chaotic life, but it honestly is the BEST!
